Madura Sri Gamage has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sculpture from the University of Fine Arts. By profession, he works in the private sector as an architect. He is currently studying art in various genres and has been doing his research in various fields like painting, sculpture, architecture, poetry, novels as well as cinematography. In the meantime, Madura became involved in a project called Our Stories through the Theertha International Artists’ Collective, which marks a significant milestone in his artistic journey. In addition to the art genres mentioned above, this is his first opportunity to create a work of art related to "photography" and "digital art".
The core idea Madura intend to convey through his work of art is that we humans have to claim the "confusion of loss" in the face of political and social crises and visualize the consequences that results from it. What he has presented here shows that the impact of those catastrophes on their life has left them frustrated with the freedom of their lives, and ultimately the smallest social unit, the "human family," is confined to a few physical factors with the uncertainty of whether their final hope, the final liberation, will be "fulfilled."
