Peshala Premathilaka is a visual artist from Kurunegala who uses bright and soft color palettes to paint vivid life experiences. Her objective is to take the viewer on a journey of enjoyment and freedom.
For Our Stories, Peshala has deviated from her original form of expression in order to convey the experiences of two characters from two separate stories that she has chosen. Through her work, she portrays their persistent effort to make their lives successful. In order to represent their courage, strength, and staunch religious faith, she uses simple symbols and colors while retaining her own creative identity.
Through the use of appropriate colors and mediums, she has sought to portray light emanating through darkness. The impulsive and free use of mediums, and the use of a rough canvas to depict the painting, are all part of that effort.
